RESTORATION SERVICE GUIDE

Water damage restoration in Southern California

A burst pipe, appliance leak or roof leak can affect flooring, walls, cabinets and spaces you cannot readily see. Start your request with the source you know, the time discovered and the affected rooms. A restoration professional can then discuss assessment, drying and repairs.

What the scope can include

  • Water source and affected-area assessment
  • Extraction and drying scope review
  • Moisture monitoring and progress documentation
  • Repair needs after mitigation

Before your provider conversation

Record what happened, which rooms are affected and whether the source has been addressed. Describe any equipment already running and any work completed by another provider. Avoid calling a room dry solely because the visible surface looks normal.

Compare the work—not only the total.

Ask how moisture findings will be documented, which materials require further evaluation and what triggers a change to the proposed scope. Separate source repair, mitigation and rebuilding so responsibilities are clear.

Does a water damage request include rebuilding?

Not automatically. Ask providers to identify mitigation and reconstruction separately, with inclusions and exclusions for each.
