RESTORATION SERVICE GUIDE

Reconstruction after damage in Southern California

Once damage is assessed, reconstruction may involve walls, floors, ceilings, cabinetry and related trades. Organize the approved repair scope, available reports and finish expectations before comparing proposals.

What the scope can include

  • Repair-scope review
  • Trade and schedule coordination
  • Finish and material selections
  • Punch list and completion documentation

Before your provider conversation

State whether mitigation is complete and whether an existing scope or drawings are available. Separate returning the property to its prior condition from elective improvements. Identify who approves selections and changes.

Compare the work—not only the total.

Compare allowances, exclusions, material responsibilities, milestones and change-order procedures. Clarify how unfinished mitigation findings or concealed damage affect pricing and sequencing.

Can I include upgrades in the rebuild?

Discuss upgrades separately from damage repairs. A written proposal should identify their cost and responsibilities so the overall scope remains clear.
